The University of Providence seeks a BSN Nursing Program Faculty member and Site Coordinator who will be responsible for fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment that prepares students to become safe, competent, and compassionate entry‑level registered nurses. This position contributes to the development, delivery, and evaluation of a comprehensive nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and the program's mission to educate future healthcare leaders.

Through excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, the faculty member plays a critical role in student success and the continuous improvement of the prelicensure nursing program. Other responsibilities include recruiting students and representing the department on university‑wide committees and teams.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
  • School – Dean, program director, advisory committee, full‑ and part‑time faculty, adjunct faculty, professional staff, students
  • University – Academic Success Center, Registrar’s Office, Enrollment Management, Marketing/PR, Student Affairs, Office of Distance‑Learning and Instructional Technology, Information Services, Faculty.
  • Local and regional healthcare leaders, providers, and councils.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teaching Load: The Site Coordinator carries a variable teaching load throughout the 12‑month academic year, resulting in a level of documented learner satisfaction and demonstrated success in achieving program and student learning outcomes.
  • Teaching Role:
  • Teach a representative course load for a full‑time 12‑month faculty.
  • Teaching may be in a combination of clinical, lab, and/or didactic education.
  • Clinical education may be provided with support of additional Clinical Instructors with approval of the Nursing Division Chair and BSN Program Faculty/Lead.
  • All teaching responsibilities are conducted in compliance with employment agreement, University policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinator Role: The Site Coordinator has primary responsibility for assuring that experiential clinical education meets program goals.
  • Assures sufficient Clinical Instructors to provide safe and sufficient oversight of students.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of simulation and clinical practice lab facilitates as required for student learning, including oversight of equipment and supplies.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of strong and positive relationships within the clinical sites and health care community.
  • Evaluates sites to support student learning for all clinical experiences, including behavioral health, maternal‑child care, population health, and other courses. Provides input and recommendations about those sites to the BSN Program Lead.
  • Schedules student learning experiences within approved clinical sites and assures that leadership and staff are prepared to receive students and support their learning.
  • Receives and responds appropriately to feedback and input from leaders and staff at each clinical site.
  • Evaluates student performance and consolidates input from other Clinical Instructors. Provides clear and meaningful input to other members of the faculty team about student performance.
  • Meets with students as needed to offer additional instruction and supportive guidance to improve performance. Develops or assists in development of individualized learning contracts with students if needed.
  • Participates in any required remediation or disciplinary process in consultation with BSN BSN Program Faculty/Lead and Nursing Division Chair.
  • Represents the interests and program needs of the clinical site to the BSN Program Faculty/Lead and Nursing Division Chair.
  • Recruit and advise nursing students; supervise nursing students in practicum and internship.
  • Conduct program assessment and development.
  • Provide service to the program, the University, the profession, and the community.
  • Develop and maintain relations with area healthcare agencies, associations, and licensure boards.
