Overview
The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking applicants for its student employee pool to work with faculty researchers. Successful applicants may assist with field, laboratory, or other research-related tasks. Assignments may require short turn-around time, general or minimal supervision, and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Candidates should be dependable and able to work independently after training. Some positions may require knowledge of laboratory procedures.
Successful applicants will work on an as-needed basis during the academic year and/or summer for a faculty member or faculty members with active research projects.
- Provide field, laboratory, or other assistance with research projects as assigned.
- Operate with potential short-turnaround tasks and general or minimal supervision.
- Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and maintain dependability and independence after training.
- Perform routine duties with limited decision-making when immediate supervision is unavailable.
- May require some prior training, experience, and/or knowledge.
- To Be Eligible For Student Employment – An applicant must be enrolled in the UA system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; must have a 2.0 GPA.
- Minimum Qualifications – High School Diploma.
This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. The starting rate of pay for a student employee is $11.34; depending on experience and the needs, the pay could be higher.
