Overview

Adjunct faculty position for the School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences. The College of Health (COH), one of seven UAA schools and colleges, is a major center for development and delivery of professional, career and technical, community, and continuing education programs. The School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences offers Occupational Endorsement Certificates, Undergraduate Certificates, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and Bachelor degrees.

• Provide classroom instruction and/or clinical teaching in health fields in traditional and distance delivery environments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of accepted instructional methods and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; strong public speaking and customer service skills are valued.
• Engage in curriculum development, web-based course design and delivery, and use of technology in the classroom; contribute to didactic and clinical instruction as appropriate.
• Evaluate and advise students, support a diverse undergraduate population, and foster high-quality instruction.
• Develop and maintain community partnerships with health care partners to enhance program relevance and opportunities for students.

• Significant experience in a health-related field.
• Associates degree required;
  Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to work with students, staff, faculty, administration, and the public in a courteous and effective manner.

This position is located on the Goose Lake Campus in Anchorage, Alaska. It is a part-time, for-credit adjunct faculty position. Salary is based on experience and the number of previous semesters taught within the University of Alaska.
