AB Staffing is looking for experienced Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 25/26 school year in Anchorage, AK.

• $1,875.00 - $2,550.00/week DOE.
• Local and travel packages available to those who qualify.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university.
• Valid teaching license with Special Education Endorsement.
• Knowledge of core academic subject content, curriculum, and the ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education.
• At least one year of teaching experience with students having a variety of disabilities, including behavior disorders and learning/cognitive delays (preferred).
• Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical capacity to stand or sit for extended periods, see/read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids, hear and understand speech, speak audibly, and understand oral and written instructions. May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment up to 40 pounds.

• Contract through the school year – 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
• Contract follows the academic district calendar.

• Develop and implement engaging, effective lesson plans and special education programs tailored to students’ needs.
• Adapt curriculum based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and diverse learning styles.
• Maintain regular contact with parents, providing updates on progress and collaborating on strategies to support learning at home.
• Create a well‑organized, safe, and positive learning environment.
• Implement strategies to manage behavior and ensure a productive classroom atmosphere.
• Provide individualized and group instruction, utilizing specialized techniques for students with diverse needs.
• Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Modify curriculum and materials according to IEP goals.
• Conduct evaluations and maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Collaborate with educators and specialists to support student success.
• Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
• Ensure compliance with special education regulations and complete necessary documentation.
