Position Summary

With oversight and direction from the Training Manager, the Training Instructor Coach is responsible for implementing and executing training, program, evaluation, and delivery standards, coaching and mentoring Training Instructors, and facilitating Alaska Primary Care Association’s (APCA) Workforce Development & Health Equity (WF/HE) trainings and programs. This position works in collaboration with WF/HE managers and teams to execute projects supporting workforce training.

Areas of focus include (but are not limited to): delivery of grant‑funded programs (AHEC, PATH, RAP Readiness, Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs), and other trainings), Community Health Center (CHC) workforce solutions, and professional development of WF/HE training staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the WF/HE Training Manager, provide coaching, mentoring, and training to WF/HE Training Instructors to support growth and professional development.
  • Follow guidance from the training manager to assist with new instructors onboarding and credentialing to ensure continued program compliance and adequate instructor availability to support the training schedule.
  • Provide support and guidance to students navigating training pathways through or in partnership with APCA.
  • Gather and analyze data to determine improvements for training program planning and implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with business partners and educational institutions to plan, promote and implement training opportunities in diverse communities throughout Alaska.
  • Collaborate with WF/HE leadership and program staff to ensure grant expectations, deadlines, and program/project outcomes are monitored and met.
  • Provide excellent customer service to program participants, internal and external customers, APCA staff, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Coordinate program delivery with and facilitate communication with industry partners, program participants, internal and external customers, and contracted vendors as directed by Training Manager, Senior Manager of Workforce, WF/HE Director, and/or APCA leadership.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with APCA staff, members, and partners.
  • Work in partnership with WF/HE managers and staff to implement, coordinate, improve, and expand programs and services.
  • Assist with managing and ensuring that assigned projects have sound evaluation plans established and implemented.
  • Assist with implementation and analysis of staff and participant evaluations.
  • Prepare instructional materials and environment for both virtual and in‑person classroom.
  • Participate in outreach and recruiting efforts as needed to support strengthening partnerships and participant enrollment.
  • Track participant progress in programs to include attendance, class participation, required assessments, certifications, and course completion.
  • Track participant engagement, experience, and knowledge transfer using various strategies including (but not limited to): one‑on‑one communications, feedback surveys, evaluations, databases, training platforms, etc.
  • Manage assigned projects to include timelines, deliverables, and communication.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert based on education and experience for the Learning & Development team on curriculum development and improvement projects.
  • Accurately collect, maintain, evaluate, update, and analyze various forms of data as it relates to participant and program records.
  • In collaboration with WF/HE leaders and staff, facilitate and manage peer network meetings; communication, meeting set up, minutes, record‑keeping, etc.
  • Assist with promoting and maintaining positive interagency working relationships with the membership organizations of the APCA.
  • Assist with educating and advocating, where appropriate, regarding improvement of health care access and reduction of health disparities in underserved communities.
  • Assist with the evaluation and analysis of problems, and the selection and implementation of effective course of corrective action as needed.
