Job Statement / Purpose
The Program Coordinator will work closely with the senior manager to prepare and execute comprehensive action plans and manage budgets for projects focused on creating monuments that facilitate healing for Alaska Native community members. The role includes overseeing funds, providing administrative support, and coordinating community engagement, ceremony, and healing events. The Coordinator will work with management to identify and contract artists and stakeholders, prepare meeting agendas, and maintain project documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate management activities for project planning and completion.
- Prioritize projects, set time frames and delegate tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders and provide status updates.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
- Ensure quality assurance and adherence to standards.
- Assist senior manager in executing project plans.
Essential Skills
- 1–3 years of Program Coordinator or similar experience.
- Experience in end‑to‑end project management.
- Knowledge of Alaska Native cultures and healing practices.
- Strong organizational, multitasking and time‑management skills.
- Community engagement and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid written and public speaking abilities.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
Knowledge
- Understanding of Alaska Native cultures, history, and trauma.
- Experience in Alaska Native ceremonies and healing practices.
- Ability to listen to community stakeholders on healing practices.
- Basic understanding of ANHC mission and willingness to receive training.
- Strong knowledge of Alaska Native networks.
Abilities
- Follow direction from senior manager and supervisors.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem‑solving and seek assistance when needed.
Travel
- Travel 25% of the time.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Primary work indoors in controlled office, occasional on‑site.
- Must work in all Alaska weather conditions.
- Quiet to moderate noise; occasional loudness.
- Lift or move up to 30 lbs; frequent sitting, standing, walking, and handling.

- Additional duties as assigned based on ANHC needs.
