Under the general direction of the ASRC Controller, the primary function is to maintain, update, and reconcile charges and payments on customer accounts. The accounts receivable activities include:
- reconciling daily cash and charge sales
- preparing and submitting for approval monthly sales and deposit summaries
- maintaining correct accounts receivable records, files and systems
- preparing and mailing bills, invoices and statements to customers
- responding to customer inquiries
The scope of the position includes:
- exchanging information related to account charges and statement with customers
- exchanging information with other ASRC departments, managers and subsidiaries
Input and reconcile daily cash and charge sales.
Records and prepares deposits of cash receipts on a daily basis.
Prepares and mails account billings, invoices and statements to clients and customers.
Establishes and maintains accurate accounts receivable records, files and systems.
Maintains cooperative working relationships with customers as pertains to customer accounts and billings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEStrong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or college coursework preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of general accounting practices, procedures and routines.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounts receivable functions, routines and guidelines.
Computer efficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Experience with Accounting information systems. Oracle EBS preferred.
Ability to operate computer systems relating to accounting and financial reporting.
Proficient professional written and oral communication.
Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
