The Catering Food Expeditor role is to communicate with the cooks, pull all food items for deliveries, and serve as the communication conduit between the kitchen and drivers. The key to this position is to ensure that the client receives 100% accuracy on every order, and that each delivery is complete and timely.
Responsibilities- Pre-Planning
- Confirm with the Kitchen the day before that each order is updated and correct.
- Develop a game plan for the delivery driver the day before for deliveries.
- Day Of Execution
- Work off the BEO and check off each item needed to complete the order.
- Maintain verbal communication with the chef and cooks.
- Conduct on-time check for kitchen and drivers.
- Monitor the quality of dishes and ensure correct amounts are delivered.
- Ensure adherence to health and sanitation standards of all orders.
- Temper all food before it leaves the kitchen.
- Confirm with the kitchen on the completion of each order.
- Hand off order to delivery driver and confirm with the delivery driver the order is 100% complete and accurate.
- Address problems with accuracy and quality of each order.
- Assist staff where needed.
- End of Day List.
- Cleans and maintains all warming cabinets.
- Label Expo Boards daily.
- Positive Attitude
- Previous experience as a food expeditor or similar role
- Works well in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Multitasking and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and goal oriented
- Caterease knowledge
- Valid Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- Can lift 50 pounds or more
- Reliable and punctual
- Can work on weekends and holidays, and handle shifting work schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Part‑time schedule with up to 30 hours per week
- Consistent morning shifts
- Positive team environment
