The Position
*** Recruiting for Substitute Warehouse Worker Positions ***
Basic Function: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of duties related to the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of District supplies, equipment, mail and food; maintain and prepare related records and reports; drive a District vehicle to various locations to deliver goods as assigned.

Education:
Graduation from high school.
Experience:
Two years of experience driving light trucks in delivery work or in a warehouse environment.
Licenses and Other Requirements: Possession of a valid, appropriate California driver's license at time of appointment, and throughout employment in this classification. Valid Forklift Certification within first month of employment. Positions in this classification require possession of a valid California Class A or B driver's license with air brake endorsement.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of: Basic warehouse operations, requisitions/purchase orders/invoices, loading/unloading, shipping/receiving, equipment operation, proper storage, computer/data entry, basic record-keeping, health and safety regulations, basic math, and driving basics.
Ability to: Perform physical and clerical duties related to packing, storing and shipping; receive/store/ship/deliver materials; drive District vehicle; operate forklift; maintain inventory; meet schedules; use computer software; follow instructions; observe health and safety regulations; lift up to 50 pounds.
Physical DemandsDexterity for keyboard and equipment operation; hearing/speaking; vision; standing/walking; lifting 50+ pounds; reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs.
Work EnvironmentWarehouse environment; driving; exposure to fumes/dust/odors; evening/varied hours; hazards from machinery and high places.
