Security System Specialist
Location: Anaheim, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Job SummaryWe seek an experienced Security System Specialist II to support the installation, startup, commissioning, and servicing of advanced building security and special systems. This hands‑on technical role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, field experience, and familiarity with industry‑standard platforms such as Lenel and Genetec.
You will play a critical role in delivering reliable, code‑compliant solutions to commercial and industrial clients while working closely with installation and service teams in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Perform system startup and commissioning, including point-to-point checkout and alarm/device verification
- Troubleshoot installation, configuration, and service‑related issues
- Provide technical support to installation teams and site contractors
- Ensure proper backups of all software and system configurations
- Maintain and service existing systems to ensure compliance and operational integrity
- Assist in the creation of as‑built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals
- Help transition projects from operations to service
- Support the sales team during estimating and demonstration phases as needed
- Participate in on‑call emergency response rotations
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and time entries
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience installing and servicing security systems
- Proficiency with Lenel and Genetec platforms
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Skilled in using electronic testing tools such as volt meters and oscilloscopes
- Ability to read and interpret electronic/electrical schematics
- Understanding of AC power systems, breakers, and multi‑phase configurations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field
- Certifications in Lenel, Genetec, or Avigilon
- Over 5 years of experience with Lenel or Genetec systems
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders on construction sites
- Kneel, stoop, and crawl in confined spaces
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per company policy
- $45.00 – $52.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
