The Opportunity

The Production Assembler Lead oversees production activities on the production floor to assure production schedules are being maintained to meet customer commitments.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure finished products meet Meri Cal and customer quality standards.
  • Verify that the job being produced matches exactly with the Packaging instructions on the paperwork, notifying QA, Manager, and/or the customer service department if there is a discrepancy.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the production run to ensure finished products meet Meri Cal quality standards.
  • Ensure the next job is staged and ready to produce after the previous job is finished, and the line is cleared of all products from the previous job.
  • Fill out line‑cleaning logs and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and signed by responsible employees prior to starting a new job.
  • Assist in training production line personnel.
  • Assign work and set daily goals and expectations.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Department regarding equipment changes or mechanical problems to minimize downtime and maximize production.
  • Maintain a solid attendance record and lead by example to build and sustain a quality core of employees that maximizes productivity.

What You’ll Bring

  • 1 to 3 years working as a production line lead, preferably in an FDA packaging environment.
  • High School Diploma or A.A or higher.
  • Good communication skills with a solid understanding of production processes and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret all production paperwork, including safety rules, new GMPs for FDA compliance, and job sheet instructions to ensure quality products are produced per customer standards.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English, and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Possess strong communication skills and be able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced production department.
  • Perform basic arithmetic and use calculators or measuring devices to calculate, track, and report production on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis for accurate and detailed production numbers.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours) and lift over 50 lbs.

Compensation

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $21.00-$23.00 per hour. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
