The Biller III is responsible for the billing and collection of monies for hospital charges from a variety of payers. Performs patient accounting functions that may include payment posting and reconciliation. Reviews all accounts within assigned inventory and ensures the timely collection of those accounts. Uses computerized billing system to maintain accounts. • Handle billing and collection of hospital charges from multiple payer sources.
• Perform patient accounting functions including payment posting and reconciliation.
• Review accounts within the assigned inventory to ensure timely collections.
• Maintain accounts using the computerized billing system.

• Some positions may require bilingual skills to accommodate Spanish-speaking or other language-speaking customers.
• Ability to perform duties with skill, knowledge and reliability essential to the role.
• Demonstrated customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of a variety of non-governmental and governmental payers.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD billing codes, authorization requirements and related documentation.
• Good math skills for calculations related to patient accounting.
• Good communication skills to interact with payers, patients, families and staff.
• Familiarity with electronic payment posting and payer enrollment processes.
• Experience creating and editing spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Effective data and numerical data entry skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve routine and non-routine errors independently.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.
