As a Direct Support Professional, you will fill the role of a Personal Attendant/Supported Living Services (SLS) providing compassionate, person-centered care to adults with developmental disabilities in their own homes and communities. The primary goal is to help individuals live as independently as possible while maintaining their health, safety, and personal well-being.
🛠️ PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and household chores.
- Implement and monitor progress toward goals outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Support clients’ physical and emotional health by observing, reporting, and responding appropriately to changes in behavior or condition.
- Facilitate grocery shopping, community outings, medical appointments, and other errands.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation of all services provided.
Many SLS roles involve driving responsibilities, which may include:
- Transporting clients to and from appointments, social activities, errands, or employment.
- Traveling between multiple client homes during the same day or supporting different clients on different days.
- Using a personal or agency-provided vehicle, depending on availability and assignment.
- Requirement Description Valid CA Driver’s License | Must be current and unrestricted
- Clean Driving Record | DMV report may be required
- Auto Insurance | Must meet California’s minimum legal coverage
- Reliable Vehicle | Must be available and safe for transport when required by the role
- Valid California Driver’s License | Required for any driving duties
- Proof of Auto Insurance | If using a personal vehicle
- DMV Driving Record | Verifies driving history
- Live Scan Fingerprinting Clearance | Required for background screening
- TB Test (within past 12 months) | Ensures client health and safety
- CPR/First Aid Certification | Prepares you for emergency response
- Mandated Reporter Certificate | Required by state for all DSPs
Primarily looking for day shift
Staff may be assigned to multiple locations, depending on client needs and availability.
Full-time and part-time roles available with varying schedules to provide 24/7 client coverage.
