Job Title: Project Engineer – Mechanical Construction

Industry: Mechanical Construction (HVAC / Piping / Plumbing)

A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful execution of HVAC, piping, and plumbing construction projects in the Irvine area. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a Mechanical Engineering degree and at least one year of experience supporting mechanical construction projects
.

The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to assist with project coordination, documentation, procurement, and schedule management throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support Project Managers in the execution of mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and field teams to ensure project milestones are met
• Assist with procurement of equipment and materials for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
• Track project schedules and help ensure deliverables are completed on time
• Maintain organized project files, logs, and reports
• Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Support project closeout activities including punch lists, documentation, and turnover packages

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• 1+ year of experience supporting mechanical construction projects
• Exposure to HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing systems within a construction environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction management software is a plus

• Internship or early career experience with a mechanical contractor or MEP contractor
• Exposure to large commercial or industrial mechanical systems
  
  Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project workflows
