Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Team in Anaheim, CA
. The Engineering Manager will manage and work alongside the engineering staff responsible for engineer‑to‑order (ETO) projects. These projects utilize various configurations of existing design platforms. Ensure that custom configurations of existing and new designs meet customer requirements and can be produced within cost constraints.
- Manage the day‑to‑day activities of an engineer‑to‑order engineering department.
- Manage and create manufacturing packages for custom‑configured cabinet assemblies.
- Evaluate customer requirements outlined in various sales documents supplied.
- Estimate the engineering lead‑time required for all projects.
- Create 3D CAD assembly files from existing CAD models of previously designed components and accessories – configure per customer requirements.
- Design custom accessories in accordance with the EIA‑310 standard.
- Design manufacturing fixtures as defined by project requirements.
- Create detailed part drawings, weldment drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs, and write and process ECNs.
- Create complete product structures with routings for the entire manufacturing package in the ERP system.
- Interface directly with all areas of production as required to support the progress and completion of projects.
- Interface directly with regulatory agencies such as UL and assist in testing.
- Lead and manage the performance and development of assigned team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in NC punch and laser programming.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Proficiency with Solid Works.
- Strong project management abilities – make timely decisions, handle multiple priorities, delegate responsibilities.
- Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish a diversified workload.
- Collaboration and ability to work in a team‑based environment.
- Ability to promote an environment that encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
- Effective listening skills to extract necessary information and validate understanding.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; M.S. in Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal‑based product fabrication methods.
$120,000–$140,000 annually
