• Acts as a resource for the Vice President of IT Operations to facilitate the design and implementation of networks, security and telecommunications systems.
• Design, modify, configure, test and implement network, security and telecommunications applications and operating systems.
• Has expertise in a variety of network and telephony protocols.
• Provides technical guidance and support for networking and telecom staff.
• Conducts system analysis, industry research and proposes design upgrades to keep systems current with changing technologies.
• Respond promptly and professionally to production problems for supported systems and applications.
• Analyze, design, coordinate and supervise the deployment of network and telecommunications systems to solve information processing problems.
• Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements to task specifications for IT staff.
• Responsible for analysis of current network, security and telecommunications applications and systems including performance diagnosis and troubleshooting of problems, as well as designing solutions to problematic communication and networking issues.
• Configure, edit and troubleshoot new systems and configurations for assigned projects, including secure data throughput.
• Document configuration consistently throughout the deployment and support process by documenting design, special installation or support instructions, and any changes made in configurations.
• Utilize tools and equipment involved in performance of essential functions of networking, security and telecommunications systems, including testing and measuring instruments.
• Maintain positive internal and external client interactions.
• Research and recommend network management and support tools to management.
• Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
• Review changes in networking and telecommunications environment that will affect communications performance.
• Provide recommendations to senior management concerning issues of network topology, security settings or telecommunications performance.
• Attend regular staff meetings, prepare brief correspondence and reports, verbally communicate technical information, make presentations to groups outside immediate work area, develop and document procedures, follow up and research questions and needed information, interact with managers and management from different client organizations regularly.
• Interact with networking and server support staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10 years of experience in network, security, telecom or IT systems development (or equivalent experience).
• Good working knowledge of moderately complex systems, including EIGRP, F5, Palo Alto, BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, VPN, IDS, IPS, TACACS, RSA.
• Solid understanding of routing, firewalls and phone system configurations and programming.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
• Solid understanding of distributed computing environment concepts, including emerging software-defined networks and CCaaS systems.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
• Experience in developing long-range planning for new projects and environments.
• Ability to teach or instruct co-workers, and to provide advice, training and technical support for various projects.
• Work closely with management team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future networking and telecommunication processes.
• Quickly learn emerging technologies that impact systems and resolve integration issues.
• Expert knowledge of networking, security protocols, telecommunications systems and deployments.
• Experience determining whether a problem is caused by hardware, OS software, application programs or network failures.
• Good knowledge of data security and encryption.
