This role drives reliability improvements through lifecycle planning and root cause investigations, working with operations, maintenance, and engineering to implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness using reliability metrics and performance dashboards.

Primary Purpose

Drives reliability improvements through comprehensive lifecycle planning and advanced root cause investigations. Partners with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness using reliability metrics and performance dashboards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads reliability assessments, studies, and investigations on equipment failures to identify underlying causes; develops detailed reports and recommends corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Performs comprehensive Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure points and assess their impact on equipment and system reliability; works with cross-functional teams to prioritize and implement strategies that address identified weaknesses.
  • Monitors key performance indicators related to reliability and produces regular reports; provides data-driven recommendations to leadership for performance improvements.
  • Assesses and refines existing reliability methodologies; suggests enhancements to increase system availability and operational efficiency based on observed data and industry best practices.
  • Creates and maintains detailed asset maintenance plans and spare parts inventory lists; focuses on prolonging equipment lifespan and improving operational readiness.
  • Influences maintenance and operations policies through reliability insights.
  • Reports performance metrics to leadership and presents improvement roadmaps with measurable milestones.
  • Coordinates multisite reliability program pilots and scales proven practices; sets baseline and target metrics for uptime and maintenance costs; provides compliance input for reliability practices, standards and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary: $129,500 - $204,500 / year

Qualifications

Education

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience

  • Typically requires 8 years of related experience.

  • Reliability Engineering - Applying scientific know-how to ensure that a component, product, plant, or process performs its intended function without failure for the required time in a specified environment.
  • Root Cause Analysis - Process of discovering root causes to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) - Identify potential failure modes, assess impacts, and prioritize actions to address risks and improve reliability.
  • Data Analysis - Proficiency in using statistical and analytical tools to interpret data and inform decisions.
  • Condition Monitoring - Monitoring machinery condition to identify signs of faults.
  • Predictive Maintenance - Data-driven maintenance to predict when maintenance is needed.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) - Proactive maintenance to optimize reliability and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement - Ongoing efforts to improve processes and practices.
  • Asset Management - Systematic process of managing assets throughout lifecycle cost-effectively.
  • Reliability Testing - Evaluating dependability under various conditions.
