Position Overview

The Drop Bury Construction Supervisor oversees field operations related to fiber drop bury installation and restoration activities. This role is responsible for managing drop bury crews, coordinating work schedules, ensuring quality installation standards, and maintaining compliance with safety and client requirements.

The Drop Bury Construction Supervisor works closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, restoration teams, and client representatives to ensure residential and commercial fiber drops are installed efficiently and completed to specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of fiber drop bury installation crews
  • Coordinate work schedules, routing, and job assignments for field technicians
  • Ensure drop bury work is completed according to client specifications and engineering standards
  • Conduct field inspections to verify quality of installation and restoration
  • Monitor crew productivity and ensure daily production goals are met
  • Coordinate with utility locate teams to ensure safe excavation
  • Manage materials, equipment, and tools required for drop bury operations
  • Ensure crews follow OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and clients regarding project progress
  • Track and report completed work, production metrics, and job status
  • Address field challenges including permitting, restoration requirements, and customer property concerns
  • Support training and development of field technicians and crew members
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in fiber drop bury, underground utility, or telecommunications construction
  • Experience supervising fiber installation or drop bury crews
  • Strong understanding of fiber drop installation, conduit placement, and restoration requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints and service drop work orders
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple crews and job sites simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with major telecom providers or fiber deployment programs
  • Knowledge of OSP fiber construction and last-mile network installations
  • Experience with plow equipment, trenching, or directional drilling environments
  • Familiarity with telecom construction documentation and reporting systems
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel between project locations as required
  • Ability to work in outdoor construction environments in varying weather conditions

    Ability to walk job sites and perform field inspections
