Responsibilities
- Prepare complex tax returns, including consolidated returns with multi state and international filing components.
- Handle intricate compliance tax research assignments and prepare tax memorandums.
- Review and deliver tax projections to clients.
- Assist clients with inquiries related to accounting and tax issues.
- Meet with IRS and FTB agents to discuss examinations.
- Review and mentor the work of interns, tax staff accountants, and semi-senior staff accountants.
- Address tax questions from staff across all departments.
- Conduct staff training on technical subjects and software, including preparing, teaching, and facilitating classes for the department.
- Demonstrate proficiency in corporate, individual, and partnership taxation.
- Manage multiple client engagements while also completing tasks related to business development.
- Exhibit the ability to teach and train staff effectively.
- Bachelors degree in accounting; masters degree in business administration or taxation a plus.
- At least 3 years of public accounting industry experience preferred.
- Strong Tax Generalist background is a plus.
- Strong accounting foundation (year-end adjustments, fixing client books, fluency in Quick Books programs).
- Working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Knowledge of CCH software (CCH Axcess, Engagement) a plus.
- Enrolled Agent / Certified Public Accountant license is a plus.
- Experience with industries such as Real Estate, Manufacturing, Engineering, High Net worth individuals, and Individuals with trusts (multi-state international filings) is a plus.
