This is a new role for us! In the Diagnostic Imaging Analyst role, you will play a key role in the department to ensure the proper and timely diagnostic imaging information flow. In this role, the Analyst serves as a liaison with Skagit Regional Health’s PACS Administrators, Skagit Radiology, other external entities, vendors, as well as Island Health internal departments such as Information Services to ensure diagnostic imaging studies and reports are available and accessible in a timely and efficient manner.
Whatyou will be doing
- In collaboration with the Information Systems, vendor, DI department, and community partners, maintain the current PACS system, DR Merge. Participate in testing, upgrades, and data migration to the new system.
- Manage reports by troubleshooting reporting issues: move and correct reports, troubleshoot reports that did not cross the interface successfully, investigate the reason a report is not in the Electronic Health Record by checking the order, interface message, provider information, and report status. Resend reports from PACS when requested.
- Maintain Breast Center accreditation by conducting breast imaging reporting.
- Provide system & access support: troubleshoot Web Ambassador and Universal Manager account issues, manage licenses, and manage and troubleshoot Universal Manager errors.
- Provision PACS access.
- Participate in all activities in the implementation of Philips Vue PACS. Serve as a DI technical liaison between Island Health, Skagit Regional Health, Skagit Radiology, and vendors.
- Provide all Island Health DI information necessary to move the project to completion. Participate in testing and involve others to ensure successful testing and implementation of the new PACS
- Attend all required training for the new PACS system and serve as Island Health’s system expert, as appropriate. Share PACS knowledge with others in the department as well as the Information Services to ensure continuity of service.
- Implement the new cardiovascular PACS system at Island Health.
- Engage with vendors and key internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
- Attend training, develop documentation, participate in the development of the support model.
- Lead the effort of integration of the system with the Electronic Health Record. Provide support for the system to DI, cardiology physicians, and community.
- Cross train with DI Imaging Support to fill in as a backup.
- Ensure all annual training is completed in a timely manner

- Ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with staff at all levels of the organization with a focus on forming partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve an optimal patient care experience and support Island Hospital’s strategic goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with clinicians, leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines as necessary.
- Familiarity with Diagnostic Imaging and other clinical workflows, healthcare processes, and terminology required.
- 2 – 5 years of healthcare experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Meditech experience preferred.
- PACS experience preferred.
