We’re seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to join us on a freelance basis and lead a critical phase of operational improvement. This role requires a confident, business‑facing leader who can partner closely with senior stakeholders, guide a technical team, and bring strategic clarity to complex supply chain environments.
What You’ll Do
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing supply chain team, ensuring strong execution and continuous improvement.
Oversee end‑to‑end supply chain operations, driving efficiency, resilience, and service excellence.
Manage supply chain budgets, ensuring cost control, accurate forecasting, and financial accountability.
Own vendor management: assess supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and strengthen long‑term partnerships.
Act as a key business partner, working closely with senior business leaders to align supply chain strategy with commercial priorities.
Communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders, providing insight, challenge, and strategic recommendations.
Oversee a dedicated technical team responsible for hands‑on system configuration and support.
Bring strong high‑level knowledge of supply chain management software , enabling you to guide the technical team, understand system capabilities, and make informed decisions on process and system optimisation.
Drive improvements across planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Deliver structured reporting and data‑driven updates to leadership teams.
What You Bring
Extensive experience in senior supply chain leadership roles, ideally within international or fast‑paced environments.
Strong team leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating high‑performing teams.
Proven expertise in budget management and vendor management , balancing cost, quality, and operational needs.
Excellent stakeholder‑management and communication skills — you’re confident engaging with senior business members and influencing decisions.
High‑level understanding of supply chain systems and software (e.g., ERP, WMS, planning tools), with the ability to guide technical specialists and make strategic system decisions.
A strategic mindset paired with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach.
Ability to be on‑site in Amsterdam one day per week .
