About the job

As People Director at Harlem Next, you are responsible for the full People & Culture domain. You lead the people strategy and ensure it translates into practical initiatives that support the growth of both our organization and our people.

In this role you build on a solid HR foundation while continuously improving the way we attract, develop and retain talent. You are both a strategic partner to leadership and a hands‑on driver of initiatives that strengthen our organization, culture and employee experience.

You lead a team of four independent professionals and ensure the entire employee journey—from recruitment to development and culture—is continuously strengthened.

You are a member of the management team and a trusted advisor to the CEO and business leaders on organizational development, leadership and people‑related decisions.

What you'll do Key responsibilities Strategic leadership
  • Define and execute the People & Culture strategy aligned with the company’s growth ambitions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and management team on people, culture and organizational effectiveness.
  • Influence senior stakeholders while balancing business needs and employee wellbeing.
Talent & Culture
  • Build strong leadership and a thriving organizational culture that enables people and teams to perform at their best.
  • Strengthen leadership capability across the organization through coaching, feedback and targeted development initiatives.
  • Foster a learning organization where knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities continuously evolve.
  • Continuously improve the employee experience across all touchpoints.
Organizational Development & Performance
  • Drive the structures, processes and performance frameworks that enable the successful execution of Harlem Next’s strategy.
  • Guide the design and evolution of the organizational structure, ensuring roles, responsibilities and team setups support business growth and effectiveness.
  • Partner with leadership to implement and embed the OKR framework, ensuring company strategy is translated into clear organizational priorities, team objectives and individual contributions.

About

you
  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g. HRM, Social Sciences or Business Economics)
  • 10+ years of HR experience, ideally in a generalist leadership role within a growing or mid‑sized company
  • Strong integrity, authenticity and sound judgment in people‑related decisions
  • A pragmatic and decisive approach in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with leadership development and talent strategy
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
