Position: People Operations Specialist (Maternity Cover)

People & Culture Officer (7 months from April to December, Maternity Cover)

As a People & Culture Officer (7 months from April to December, Maternity Cover), you play a key role in ensuring smooth, accurate, and people-centric People Operations. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day People administration across the employee lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding - while also contributing to People initiatives, culture, and engagement. You will own core operational processes, be a trusted first point of contact for employees, and help us continuously improve how we support our people.

In close collaboration with the Head of People and the wider People Team, you’ll help maintain a positive employee experience in a fast-growing, mission-driven scale-up.

What you’ll do: People Operations
  • Own and execute People administration, including contract management, payroll coordination, holiday and sickness administration.
  • Manage (pre-)onboarding and offboarding for employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and requests.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline People Operations.
People Processes & Culture
  • Support the continuous improvement of People processes.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and communication of People policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance and clarity across the organization.
  • Participate in weekly People Team meetings and contribute ideas and insights.
  • Support performance management processes such as goal-setting, performance reviews, and feedback cycles.
  • Collect, summarize and help translate employee feedback into actionable improvements to strengthen our culture.
Compliance & Metrics
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal People policies.
  • Uphold information security and compliance standards (e.g. Vanta).
  • Own and drive the quarterly eNPS survey, including preparation and follow-up.
  • Compile and analyze HR data and metrics (e.g. engagement, turnover).
  • Prepare reports and insights to support People and leadership decision-making.
What you bring:
  • A degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Dutch labour law, including topics such as sick leave, contracts and employee administration.
  • Strong communication skills in English, Dutch is a plus but not a requirement.
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive employee matters.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset – you follow up and get things done.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with others.
  • Energy from being a connector between teams, stakeholders and employees.
  • Openness to feedback and a direct, transparent communication style.
  • A positive, approachable attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
What you get:
  • A gross monthly salary between €3 400 and €4 000, based on your experience and ability to perform in this role.
