The CRO Corporate Banking (CB) department at ABN AMRO is seeking an enthusiastic Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Intern
. In this role, you will learn how Corporate Banking defines its risk appetite
, evaluates acceptable risk levels and supports first-line risk management and control measures.

You will contribute to improving our
Risk Appetite and Strategic Risk Assessment processes and work within an international team of risk managers with diverse backgrounds. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a newly established ERM team
, where your contribution will help shape future processes.

As an ERM Intern, you will be involved in daily activities across the CRO CB team, including:

• Identifying and measuring risks that CB, subsidiaries and international branches are exposed to.
• Supporting the development of consistent and uniform ERM processes across CB.
• Helping prepare and align the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) with 1st and 2nd Line of Defence (LoD) stakeholders.
• Communicating key RAS milestones
  , proposed changes and updates across the organisation.
• Acting as gatekeeper for ERM documentation
  , including the RAS
  , Rationale Documents and Risk Committee materials.
• Assisting in the preparation and coordination of CB Risk Committees
  , including the CRO Memo
  , verification of risk stature and escalation of critical
  events
  .
• Analysing new proposals
  and initiatives
  , assessing vulnerabilities, exposures and alignment with CB objectives.
• Supporting required risk assessments (RSA, SRA, SIRA) and translating these into strategic insights for senior management.
• Coordinating communication with internal stakeholders and contributing to the rollout of ERM processes.

You will work closely with risk managers and colleagues across all Lines of Defence
, contributing directly to key ERM activities.

You will join the ERM team within CRO Corporate Banking
. The team is responsible for defining CB’s risk appetite, supporting strategic risk assessments and strengthening first-line risk management.

You will work in an
international
, multidisciplinary environment with credit specialists, sustainability experts, compliance professionals, data analysts and senior stakeholders
. Since ERM is a newly established team, you will play an important role in supporting its development and helping shape its processes.

• Strong communicator
  , detail oriented, proactive and eager to learn.
• Comfortable working independently and sharing ideas.
• Strong analytical skills and interest in risk management.
• Currently enrolled in an MBO, HBO/BSc or WO/MSc program in Economics
  , Finance
  , Business Administration or a related field.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Available at least 4 days per week.
• Available for an internship of 5-6 months, starting in Q2 2026.
• Enrolled at a Dutch educational
  institution for the entire internship period.
