Department Overview

We are a global construction consultancy actively operating and investing in the Commercial, Data Centre, Industrial, Residential, Education, Healthcare and Infrastructure sectors.

RLB’s Cost Management team proactively manages the cost of a building project, from the initial design stages through to the building’s completion and sometimes even the costs incurred through maintenance and operation once the building is up and running. Our Cost Managers work in close contact with the client, advising them on financial and legal matters that arise during the project.

Overview of Role:

RLB’s Cost Management division in Europe is expanding and as such, we are excited to be recruiting a Senior Cost Manager to join and strengthen our team in the Netherlands.

The role presents a brilliant opportunity to work on local Data Centre projects for Hyperscale Data Centre Developers who already have a very impressive project portfolio across multiple sites. We are looking for candidates with a proven cost and commercial management background within the Data Centre sector.

The position offers a platform to develop professionally and opportunities to progress while working alongside a diverse and impressive team on exciting projects for a variety of clients, as well as a chance to truly shape the future of RLB’s European business.

Person Specification:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil engineering, M&E Engineering, or similar technical discipline
  • Data Centre experience is essential
  • CSA and MEP experience beneficial
  • MRICS or member of another relevant professional body, or currently working toward
  • Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
  • Able to build long-term relationships
  • Previously employed by a consultancy, main contractor or client-side organisation
  • Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
  • A team player, collaborative, flexible, and career focused
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of a project.
  • To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances.
  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures.
  • Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies.
  • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
  • Cost Planning and estimating, post contract and procurement duties.
  • Promote commercial awareness throughout project.
  • Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team.
  • Developing Commercial Strategies.
  • Developing Acquisition Strategies.
