Drone Shield’s European operations are anchored in Amsterdam, serving as a strategic hub supporting customers across the EU and broader region. The Amsterdam office plays a key role in strengthening regional partnerships, supporting customer engagements, and advancing Drone Shield’s presence across European defence, security, and critical infrastructure markets. As demand for counter-drone capabilities continues to grow across Europe, the office supports localised engagement while contributing to the company’s broader global strategy.
Aboutthe role
Drone Shield is expanding in response to increased customer traction around the globe. As part of this growth, we are seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join the European Operations Team.
The position will report primarily to the EU Operations Manager and will work closely with the EU Sales Team, Operations Team and Engineering Teams. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fast-moving ASX listed defence technology company.
This role will focus exclusively on customer-facing field engineering support, ensuring successful deployment, integration, and sustainment of Drone Shield’s systems across Europe.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations- Collaborate with the EU Sales and Australian Delivery teams to provide technical support during customer engagements, system architecture reviews, and solution scoping.
- Plan, manage, and execute the installation and integration of multi-product C-UAS systems in the field.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, handling system diagnostics, troubleshooting, software upgrades, and maintenance.
- Perform validation testing of new hardware and software releases, reporting feedback to Engineering.
- Deliver operator and maintainer training for end-users.
- Capture, document, and elevate field feedback to inform product improvements.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers across a diverse range of technical and cultural backgrounds.
- Provide remote and on-the-ground technical support to customers.
- Conduct engineering investigation and analysis to resolve technical issues with limited support.
- Develop and maintain documentation of Drone Shield systems and processes to ensure continual improvements over time.
