Overview
The Global Search Team Lead is a crucial, senior role responsible for the strategic growth and development of multiple accounts within the search team, with a focus on activation and strategy outside of the Netherlands. You act as an advisor to senior clients and colleagues and work closely with the Search Director. Together, you establish the client’s goals and determine the strategic direction of the search team, and more broadly together with the global programmatic and social teams.
Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:
Ensure the delivery of high‑quality search campaigns through planning and optimisation. Continuously evaluate processes in line with platform changes and industry developments. Develop and maintain best practice guidelines so that the team can deliver excellent work from the planning phase through to optimisation, reporting, and financial reconciliation.
Media Planning Excellence:
Support a team of search specialists in developing media plans and executing campaigns across various platforms and countries. Drive best‑in‑class approaches to campaign management, strategic coordination, client communication, and innovation.
Strategic Insight:
Understand the role of search strategies in achieving the client’s key KPIs. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the capabilities of major platforms (such as Google, Microsoft, SA360) and independently discuss opportunities during client meetings. Advise on the latest strategies, testing approaches, and roadmap directions. Stay informed of media and technological developments that affect performance planning, and proactively inform clients about innovative possibilities and their implications.
Client Focus and
Innovation: Drive product innovations based on client needs. Promote a test‑and‑learn structure by utilising diversification and adaptive approaches. Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, and develop effective contact strategies.
Partner Management:
Ensure excellent relationships with other agency partners and media partners to enhance the quality of work and promote knowledge sharing.
New Business:
Represent search expertise in new business pitches when necessary.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience within a digital agency, specifically in PPC.
Experience running multi‑market/region campaigns is a bonus.
Thorough knowledge of Google Ads and/or Bing Ads, and in‑depth experience and understanding of PPC across all major vendors and platforms.
Insight into web analytics, particularly Google Analytics.
Extensive knowledge and experience with campaign and bid management software, combined with strong analytical skills, good numerical insight, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
Experience in leading client meetings.
