Pet Merchandise Analyst Responsibilities
  • Own the full merchandise strategy for the pet category, including food, consumables, and hard goods.
  • Guide and support buyers with category strategy, buying programs, and inventory decisions.
  • Analyze inventory levels across regions to prevent overstocking and stockouts.
  • Partner closely with vendors to manage replenishment, pricing, and forecasting.
  • Build seasonal and annual buying plans, including high-risk periods like Q4 and holiday periods.
  • Evaluate regional demand patterns and adjust assortment and volume accordingly.
  • Use ERP and merchandise management systems to track performance and optimize turns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with buyers, vendors, and leadership to drive EBITDA performance.
Pet Merchandise Analyst Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in pet or large‑animal merchandise buying.
  • Strong working knowledge of buying programs and inventory management at scale.
  • Experience using ERP or merchandise management systems.
  • Highly analytical mindset with strong forecasting and decision‑making skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, vendor‑heavy, in‑person environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Ammon, , or Albany, OR, and work 100% onsite.
  • Rural or regional retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Degree not required, experience wins here.
