Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to work with primary-aged pupils within an education setting based in Ammanford
. This is a school-based role focused purely on supporting pupils within the classroom environment.
The role is based within a structured and supportive educational setting that provides tailored support for primary-aged children with behavioural, emotional, and social needs. The school delivers personalised learning programmes designed to re-engage pupils, promote positive behaviour, and support long-term educational outcomes. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to support primary-aged pupils throughout the school day.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils requiring targeted behavioural interventions
- Supporting learning within small primary class groups
- Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Helping to create a safe, calm, and nurturing learning environment
- Consistently implementing agreed behaviour support strategies
We welcome applicants with experience in:
- Behaviour support, mentoring, or youth work (especially with primary-aged children
) - SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs
- Alternative provision or specialist education settings
- Education, care, mental health, or related support environments
- Teaching Assistant or classroom support roles
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach is essential. Experience supporting challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
