Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of your position is to provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN Shift Supervisor and to oversee the day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This supervision must comply with current federal, state, and local standards, HIPAA regulations, guidelines, and the regulations that govern our facility. Your role is vital in ensuring that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times, as directed by your supervisor.
Scopeof Responsibility
As an RN, you are responsible for carrying out your assigned duties and ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with facility standards. You will report directly to the RN Shift Supervisor and supervise the nursing assistants to ensure the delivery of high‑quality care to residents. Your position also requires maintaining communication with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members to provide a supportive and effective care environment.
WorkingConditions
- Works throughout the nursing service area (drug rooms, nurses' stations, resident rooms, etc.).
- Required to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during work hours.
- Subject to frequent interruptions and needs to respond to emergencies.
- Interacts with residents, personnel, and visitors under a variety of conditions and circumstances.
- May encounter emotionally upset residents, family members, and visitors, requiring patience and professionalism.
- Works beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet the needs of the facility.
- Participates in ongoing educational programs to maintain licensure and stay up‑to‑date with nursing best practices.
- Exposed to risks such as falls, burns, chemicals, and other environmental hazards.
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and other health risks in the healthcare environment.
- Maintains a liaison with residents, their families, and support departments to ensure all care needs are met.
- Must be a Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with an active license. (For RN's with out‑of‑state license's, we will cover the cost for your Mass license application.)
- General work experience in a hospital, long‑term care facility, or other related healthcare setting is preferred, but not required.
