** R&D Engineer
** for our
** Amesbury, MA
** location.
** The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
*** Act as technical liaison during customer meetings to assist with product selection or define a new product development effort.
* Participate as the materials expert in the development of next generation RF absorbers.
* Specify appropriate polymer systems to meet environmental exposure requirements for custom applications.
* Develop formulations to target specific composite properties.
* Produce proof-of-concept and lab-scale engineering samples.
* Characterize composition and mechanical properties of developmental materials.
* Assist in transition to production, including specifying or modifying equipment and developing production-scale manufacturing processes.
* Assist factory with troubleshooting production issues.
*
* Qualifications:

*** BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
* 0 - 10 years of industry experience
* Extensive understanding of polymer processing and properties. Prefer experience with thermoplastics, urethane, silicone, or epoxy chemistries.
* Experience with various production techniques, including extrusion, injection molding, compounding, mixing, compression molding, spraying, and casting.
* Applicant must be US citizens and capable of obtaining and maintaining a US Department of Defense security clearance.
* Industry experience with product development preferred.
* An understanding of dielectric and magnetic properties of materials preferred.
* Experience with RF absorbing or conductive polymer systems, highly filled composite materials metal powders and conductive/resistive inks or polymers preferred.

Complete salary range for this role: $68,439 - $116,346
