Team Coordinator (Paint and Pack) / 3rd Shift

Danfoss in Ames has an opening for a Team Coordinator. The Coordinator will facilitate communications from Supervision/Planning to the Production Team, coordinate efforts to meet the shipping plan, quality targets and scheduled ship dates on customer orders. This 3rd Shift position works 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

• Ensure on time delivery of product
• Uphold strict compliance with all Danfoss and production floor policies
• Conduct daily shift meetings
• Report status of production orders and daily shipping capabilities and initiate action to ensure targets are met
• Perform Shop floor/SAP/PDC transactions as required
• Communicate with other shifts to ensure a smooth transition from one shift to another
• Maintain orderly, clean, and organized work areas according to 5S standards and cleaning plan
• Coach colleagues on the application of standards and increase skills
• Participate in department goal setting
• Identify weaknesses in production and participate in continuous improvement processes
• Promptly report material shortage problems to the Supervisor/Manager and materials department
• Provide feedback to the Supervisor for performance reviews
• Monitor employee performance and take appropriate action
• Inform Operations Team of changes and other pertinent production information
• Communicate quality issues, both assembly or packaging related
• Inform Supervisor of problems encountered by the production team
• Train new employees
• Create and maintain schedules
• Maintain daily performance management systems and take corrective actions when needed
• Responsible for meeting daily productivity and output targets
• Responsible for communicating and following up packaging errors
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Operations Services experience required
• Ability to communicate verbally and understand written instructions in English
• Basic mathematics skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to cross‑train and learn 75% of the area within 6 months
• Includes mandatory overtime to meet production needs

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must also be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift heavier amounts.

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
