RN​/LPN Respite; PRN

Job Overview

The role of a Respite Nurse is to provide one-on-one nursing support in the home or community. Respite care gives families a break from the day‑to‑day care involved in raising a child with special healthcare needs.

• Primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends; can be scheduled regularly or as needed.
• Locations:
  Ames, Nevada or Slater.

• Provide one‑on‑one nursing support in the home or community.
• Interact with the child and participate in fun activities.
• Complete electronic documentation and paper MARS.
• Perform skills such as medication administration, G‑tube nutrition, seizure management, trach care, etc.

• Current valid license as an RN or LPN in Iowa.
• Valid driver’s license with two or fewer violations in the past three years.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively (reading, writing, speaking) in English.
