Fellows Elementary is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions- Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance.
- Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
- Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
- Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
- Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: timely and current progress monitoring, uses progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.
- Works collaboratively with other educational professionals.
- Engages in professional growth.
- Valid Iowa teaching license.
- Special Education Strategist I Endorsement or willingness to obtain required.
- Ability to bend, lift, sit on the floor, run short distances, and assist physically active students.
- A basic understanding of the needs of children and the ability to relate to children with different academic and behavioral needs.
- Professional communication skills.
- Patience, compassion and maintain a caring and helpful relationship with children.
- Initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and respond accordingly.
- Ability to create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all students and staff.
