Medium sized civil and structural buildings design consultancy based near HP6 is seeking additional structural engineering staff to join their Temporary Works Team. Highly competent engineering consultancy with adaptability and innovative spirit. Well established firm with around 40 staff in total and a reputation for quality delivery. Projects are generally larger RC framed residential and commercial developments, often multi‑storey, for which the firm offers both temporary and permanent works design.
This role will be to join their temporary works team.
Technical focus will involve basement tower crane base designs, ties, design of piling platforms, enabling works, hoist bases and assessing temporary loads on structures. In order to maintain a competitive advantage, they keep abreast of the latest developments in technology and maintain an impressive range of specialist software packages. All projects are engineered with 3D BIM Revit software.
Responsibilities- Design basement tower crane bases, ties and piling platforms
- Plan and design enabling works and hoist bases
- Assess temporary loads on structures and ensure compliance with standards
- Utilise 3D BIM Revit for all design work
- Work collaboratively within the temporary works team and with other disciplines
- Several years of relevant buildings design and temporary works experience
- Valid UK working status; no visa requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of structural design and temporary works principles
- Experience with 3D BIM Revit preferred
- Competitive salary of £38,000-£45,000 per annum
