Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse for a 17-week travel assignment in a fast-paced acute care setting. The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered emergency care to neonate through geriatric populations, including trauma stabilization, pediatric emergencies, critical care, and minor fast-track cases. The department sees approximately 70 patients per day and stabilizes trauma patients for air evacuation or transfer.

- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4

- Perform rapid triage and comprehensive patient assessments
- Provide emergency and trauma nursing care in high-acuity situations
- Stabilize trauma patients prior to transfer or air evacuation
- Manage ventilated patients and cardiac monitoring
- Administer IV medications, blood products, and emergency treatments
- Initiate and manage IV access; perform lab draws as needed
- Assist with procedures including intubation, conscious sedation, and code response
- Monitor and document patient condition accurately in MEDITECH EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
- Provide 1:1 observation support for behavioral health/psych holds when assigned
- Educate patients and families regarding discharge instructions and care plans
- Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
- Trauma and critical care competency
- Ventilator management
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV insertion and medication administration
- Time management in high-volume settings
- Ability to respond effectively during codes and rapid responses
- Effective interdisciplinary communication
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (MEDITECH preferred)
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Active RN License
- AHA - BLS,ACLS,and PALS
- NIHSS
- TNCC
