Maintenance Technician

Tamarack Foods is looking to hire a full‑time Maintenance Technician for the first shift.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the production equipment and physical plant facilities. This position requires knowledge of production equipment, plant facilities, and maintenance practices. The Technician coordinates assigned work with others in the execution of maintenance tasks and procedures.

• Perform maintenance repair and preventive maintenance tasks as necessary and assigned to ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and perform as designed.
• Perform record‑keeping documentation on maintenance forms, logs, and work orders as necessary.
• Communicate with Production, Quality, and Sanitation personnel regarding maintenance activity or corrective action.
• Ensure that departmental maintenance work is performed safely and to a high workmanship standard according to company policies and procedures.
• Monitor production equipment for proper operation, performance, and food safety compliance. Notify the production lead of abnormal conditions requiring immediate attention, including shutdown of equipment as required for food safety, quality, personnel safety, or equipment safety issues.
• Able to work overtime and weekend hours as required.
• Follow quality, production, and safety policies.
• Must be able to stand on concrete for up to 8 hours, bend, stoop and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Perform other duties as required.

Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Prior experience with a Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system or wastewater treatment system is a plus. Prior food processing experience is desirable. Trade school level training in a maintenance discipline or equivalent. Familiarity with production equipment, plant facilities, and maintenance activities. Detail‑oriented and a team player with a positive attitude. High School diploma or equivalent.
