Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated therapy management organization founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. ITC is seeking a Physical Therapist with a passion for acute care. Experience in acute critical care areas of the hospital is beneficial but not required. You will encounter a variety of diagnoses as you mobilize patients in the ICU and progressive care units with multiple lines and very critical medical states.
Therapists should be able to problem-solve complex orthopedic injuries with respect to mobilization, discharge needs and progression from a therapeutic mindset. Other important qualities include teamwork, excellent communication, ability to multi-task, and flexibility.
Position: Acute Care Physical Therapist
Responsibilities:
- Appropriately assesses and examines patients with varying diagnoses according to PT scope of practice
- Treats patients within the PT scope of practice
- Teaches patients how to use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assistive devices
- Provides education to patients, caregivers and associates regarding PT interventions, safety, resources and outcomes
- Recommends appropriate adaptive equipment for ambulation and functional mobility
- Coordinates and leads groups
- Attends and participates in care planning meetings as assigned
- Communicates and collaborates with all customers and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintains gym area and equipment
- Contributes to profits and revenues including marketing and productivity
- Participates in budget development and cost saving efforts
- Serves on performance improvement teams
- Participates in community services
- Supervises treatment and documentation of the physical therapy assistant
- Delegates treatment tasks to PTAs and aides in accordance with PT state practice guidelines
- Provides care and documentation in accordance with regulatory, legal, and reimbursement guidelines
- Accepts responsibility for own growth and development through in services, required programs and continuing education
- Complies with all established hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Maintains CPR certification
- Assumes responsibility for completing all assignments and tasks in a timely and cost efficient manner
- Performs other duties as required

- Physical Requirements:
