Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• To provide assistance in the assignment and retirement of capital credits while maintaining accurate records in accordance with established cooperative policy.
• To maintain accounts receivable records, ensuring cash posting is accounted for accurately and funds are available when needed.
• To maintain accounts payable records, ensuring accurate coding, posting and processing of invoices.
• To provide analytical skills in reporting budget performance and any other reporting functions.
• To assist with the monthly closeout of the general ledger.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (or similar) required with major in accounting preferred.
• Must have a working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping. Experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, accounts receivable/payable clerk desired.
• Must be willing to expand expertise through seminars and training programs. Must be willing to support the Cooperative method of distribution of electrical energy. Must be a self-motivated individual requiring only limited supervision. Must possess business like appearance and mannerisms.
• Must be proficient in written and verbal communications. Must be able to work effectively with others. Must be able to analyze factual information. Must be skilled in operating basic office equipment. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.
• Primarily inside work with physical requirements of lifting 5 to 10 pounds occasionally. Job requires sitting, standing, standing on a short step ladder and sometimes reaching overhead.
