Software Engineer, Cloud Engineer - Software
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager who is a player coach and experienced at growing and enabling teams to build high availability, global solutions for consumers and enterprises. As Software Engineering Manager you will be a self-motivated individual who influences and executes technical strategic objectives, while representing your department across the wider business groups. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and code along with your team.

We seek to master scrum, and our company runs a 6-week cycle that enables us to solve real problems for our users and their patients, while balancing technical debt, bugs, innovation, and team growth.
Our teams are directly responsible for making decisions that will improve oral care services for thousands of dental professionals and their patients.
This position can be hybrid in American Fork, UT office 2 days per week.
What You Will Do- Leading mission focused teams of software engineers to improve the lives of Henry Schein One users and their patients through the creation of market leading solutions
- Help recruit and retain engineers to create a high performing engineering team
- Oversee team leaders and support them on their mission and delivery commitments
- Enable your engineering teams to practice continuous delivery at scale by removing workflow roadblocks
- Inspire, motivate and coach to enable continuous development of team leaders and their teams
- Ensure products are secure, compliance and reliable for Henry Schein One customers
- Collaborate with senior leaders across vision and strategy for your work streams and products
- Work closely with Product leadership to influence and understand strategic commitments of your teams
- Develop meaningful relationships and work across the business to influence others to aim for the best possible user experience
- Enable process and practice maturity to deliver on global growth opportunities
- Positively and collaboratively influence decision making to improve practices with your teams, department and stakeholder network
- Languages and Frameworks:
Java, Node.js, Groovy, Ember.js and transitioning to React.js - Databases:
Postgres and Redis - Messaging & Cloud:
Rabbit
MQ and AWS - Dev Ops & Tools:
Jira, Dynatrace, Gitlab
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred
- Technical depth with the ability to contribute hands‑on alongside the team
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience
- 1-2 years leading high‑performing teams in remote/hybrid environments
- Proven success building scalable web applications for large user bases
- Hands‑on experience with modern SPA frameworks
- Background in database technologies
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design and integration
- Experience connecting with internal and third‑party services
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Ability to lead, influence, and thrive in a hybrid work culture
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and reliable and values empathy, authenticity, curiosity, and courage
The posted range for this position is $140,000 - $165,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
