ResponsibilitiesAs a GIS Administrator at American Fork City, you will perform a diverse range of administrative, supervisory, and complex technical duties focused on the planning, organizing, and maintenance of digitized maps. Utilizing advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools, specifically ArcGIS and other ESRI applications, you will coordinate the development and creation of detailed mapping solutions that serve the city’s planning and operational needs.
Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of mapping data, enabling the city to make informed decisions in urban development and resource management. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend technical proficiency with strategic oversight in a collaborative environment.
To succeed as a GIS Administrator at American Fork City, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in physical geography, geographic information systems, cartography, or a related field. A robust understanding of spatial analysis and mapping techniques is essential, complemented by at least four years of responsible experience in similar roles. Proficiency in GIS software, particularly ArcGIS and other ESRI applications, is necessary for effectively managing and creating digitized maps.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex geographic data will enhance your contributions. Excellent organizational and communication skills are also critical for coordinating projects and collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
