POSITION SUMMARY:
A hands‑on accounting role with ownership, visibility, and room to grow.
This role supports Lion Energy’s financial operations by owning day‑to‑day accounts receivable execution and contributing to general ledger and close activities. The position balances strong customer‑facing judgment with disciplined cash‑flow execution, while supporting accurate accounting, reconciliations, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Receivables & Cash Flow Execution:
- Own day‑to‑day execution of the accounts receivable lifecycle, including customer billing coordination, cash application, and collections
- Manage customer collections with a balanced approach that prioritizes strong relationships while maintaining cash‑flow discipline
- Monitor receivables aging and delinquent balances, identify risks, and surface issues for timely resolution
- Maintain accurate customer account records, including payment terms, credit limits, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate cross‑functionally and support AR reporting, close activities, and process improvements to ensure accurate, timely receivables as the business grows
General Ledger Support & Accounting Operations:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes through preparation and posting of journal entries
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Support cash‑related accounting activities to ensure accurate transaction accounting
- Support internal controls, audit readiness, and documentation requirements
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as the business evolves
- Perform other duties and support special projects as assigned
REQUIRED
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on work with accounts receivable and general ledger activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Comfortable working with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality
- Proficiency with common accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Net Suite or similar ERP systems a plus
