The Soccer Head coaching position is offered at American Canyon Middle School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience, and a track record of working with student-athletes. The district desires a coach committed to developing young athletes both on and off the field.

• Conduct daily practices during the five-week season starting in February.
• Manage equipment and travel with the team to away games.
• Develop positive relationships with parents and players; plan an end-of-season awards recognition.
• Apply knowledge of character-building in sports, including techniques and methods of teaching and reinforcing core values of sportsmanship and good character.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the physical capacities and limitations of the age group; apply coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management, and the rules and strategies of the sport.

• Experience in soccer coaching and working with student-athletes; strong resume with the ability to develop players both on and off the field.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports, NFHS Heat and Illness Prevention, and all Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents.
• Basic knowledge of the sport, coaching principles, and safety considerations for this age group.
