The RoleUnder the direction of the Working Shop Supervisor – Assembly, the Assembly II role is responsible for inspecting, disassembling, and assembling new and used equipment for the steel industry.
Responsibilities- Disassemble Andritz and customer supplied equipment, such as levelers, slitters, choppers, shears, mandrels, scrap cutters, bearing chocks, manual mill housings, stretch mill housings, piercer mill, and mandrel mill rolls.
- Inspect and write inspection reports including recommendations for repair.
- Make repairs.
- Final assembly, testing and create final completion reports.
- Technical knowledge and the ability to read blueprints
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, presses, pullers, torches, welders, micrometers, and calipers
- Ability to operate an overhead crane and fork truck
- Capable of Stick and Mig Welding
- Ability to plumb hydraulic equipment

- Capable of performing mechanical machine maintenance for shop equipment
- Good understanding of quality control principals
- 2 years’ experience as an assembler
- Ability to build all equipment with some supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- As needed to individually perform key result items
