Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown position in a med/surg and intermediate care setting, requiring a TX or compact license and Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a mixed med/surg and intermediate care (IMC) unit

• Patient population includes general med/surg and intermediate care patients

• Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on patient assignment

• Responsibilities include caring for both IMC and general med/surg patients as assigned

• Day shift position with either 36- or 48-hour work week options

• Uses Epic EMR system;
Epic experience preferred

• Modules are completed onsite during orientation

• Responsible for providing care to both IMC and med/surg patients as assigned

• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment

• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved and no time off allowed on holidays or during the first week of orientation

• Onsite modules are required and will be completed during orientation

• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience preferred

• Epic charting system experience required

• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible

• Former permanent staff must be gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
