Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least one year of experience and a TX or compact RN license for a night shift position.
Responsibilities- Work on a Medical Surgical unit with a mix of med/surg and orthopedic patients
- 35-bed hospital unit with a patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Telemetry monitored in a centralized unit
- Uses Epic EMR; recent experience preferred
- Free floating charge nurse, patient care technicians, and patient transporters provide additional support
- House discharge nurse available across departments
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- No travel pairs or groups permitted
- No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto approved; no RTO allowed in first week of orientation
- Scrub color is flexible, but no logos allowed
- Active TX or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum one year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Current certifications in BLS and NIHSS required
- Epic charting experience within the last 6 months preferred
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
- Former permanent staff must have been gone for at least one year before returning as a traveler
