Second Baptist Church, located in the heart of Amarillo, TX, has been a cornerstone of faith and community since its founding in 1906. Our facilities have evolved to meet the needs of our members, including the Charles Jones Auditorium and Family Life Center.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Amarillo, TX, for an Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship. The Associate Pastor will lead worship services, work to cultivate meaningful worship experiences, and oversee programs focused on discipleship and spiritual formation within the congregation. Responsibilities include planning and implementing worship services, mentoring worship team members, facilitating Bible study and discipleship programs, and providing pastoral care.
Collaboration with church leadership to enhance spiritual engagement and community outreach is a key aspect of the role.
- Strong foundation in Bible Study and Discipleship practices, with the ability to teach and mentor others in spiritual growth
- Experience in Pastoring, including preaching, leading worship, and fostering a Christ-centered community
- Proficiency in Pastoral Care to support and counsel congregation members
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to connect with individuals across diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to fostering a welcoming and collaborative environment aligned with the church's mission and values
- A degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred
