Site Material Operations Manager – Eaton, Amarillo, TX

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Site Material Operations Manager for its Amarillo, TX facility. This is an onsite role; relocation is not provided. The facility, built in 1981, employs approximately 150 people and operates an iron foundry that produces conduits, covers, and fittings.

Salary Range: $94,000 – $138,000 per year (guideline only; actual salary depends on skills, experience, and business considerations).

What You’ll Do

The Material Operations Manager is responsible for managing internal material and scheduling processes to ensure maximum adherence to the Master Production Schedule provided by the Network Planning team through the SIOP process.

This Role Is Responsible For The Following Core Processes
  • Scheduling production in the short‑term horizon (0–3 months) based on S&OE processes
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy through accurate cycle counting
  • Moving materials through the facility—internal receipts, storage, distribution, and transportation
  • Managing logistics activities for the site
In This Role You Will
  • Manage material flow and inventory transactions to support plant operations by deploying lean material flow
  • Administer indirect and MRO purchasing functions per Eaton standards, including vendor relations
  • Generate short‑term production schedules aligned with the Network plan
  • Monitor execution of the production schedule and the network production plan
  • Escalate material availability issues to the COE and Network teams
  • Drive forecast attainment in alignment with the MPS derived from the SIOP plan
  • Execute shipment schedules aligned with customer priority dates and service teams
  • Champion continuous improvement using tools such as MMA, OPA, visual management, standard work, and value stream mapping
  • Maintain target inventory levels (DOH) and meet on‑time delivery goals for internal and external customers, as well as freight targets
  • Oversee plant‑owned data health activities, including routings, SAP planning parameter health, MRO, shipping/receiving, part movements, and production scheduling
  • Assist in identifying and analyzing cost‑out projects and opportunities
  • Act as a point of contact for escalations related to execution of the overall SIOP plan
Basic (Required) Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years of combined experience in Materials, Operations, and/or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or team‑leadership experience
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Amarillo, TX (no relocation offered);
    Active‑Duty military service members are exempt from this requirement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cross‑functional SIOP and inventory management processes
  • Technical knowledge of forecasting techniques, bill of material structuring, and scheduling execution
  • ERP knowledge (SAP)
  • In‑depth plant manufacturing process and value‑stream knowledge from raw materials to finished product
  • APICS CPIM Certification preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate team members to drive results
