Custodian

Position Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment for employees, customers, and visitors. This role performs daily indoor and outdoor cleaning of the facility to ensure sanitation, safety, and appearance standards are consistently met.

Daily Indoor Cleaning

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, conference rooms, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all floor surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners
• Clean windows, glass, mirrors, doors, and fixtures
• Dust and wipe desks, counters, shelving, and high-touch surfaces
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies
• Report safety, maintenance, or facility issues

Daily Outdoor Cleaning & Grounds

• Remove trash and debris from parking lots, walkways, entrances, and loading areas
• Sweep sidewalks and exterior entry points
• Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and disposal areas
• Clean outdoor break areas and common spaces
• Assist with basic seasonal upkeep (leaves, dirt buildup, light snow/ice as needed)

General Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion while performing assigned duties and supporting general facility needs
• Safely use cleaning equipment and approved chemicals
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
• Complete cleaning checklists or logs as required
• Support special cleaning projects and facility needs

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending)
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

• Combination of indoor and outdoor work
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying weather conditions
• Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and bending
