Responsibilities

Position Summary: The Env Svcs Wkr/Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital. The role may include duties such as patient‑area cleaning, non‑patient‑area cleaning, trash technician, special care unit cleaning, and other related assignments. The employee must maintain a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards while interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: The position involves sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all rooms in the hospital. Duties may include wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, upholstery, changing cubicles, cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, carpet extracting, and other surface cleaning tasks as required. Employees must perform tasks continually, accept supervision from various supervisors, and work in spite of frequent interruptions. They must consider the safety and well‑being of patients, staff, and visitors at all times, following all safety policies and reporting hazards immediately.

Immediate and reactive planning is required to prioritize tasks and ensure supplies and equipment are available.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

  • Knowledge/

    Education:

    Ability to understand and communicate in English both verbally and in writing. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience:

    Previous experience not required.
  • Training: 1–3 months.
  • Licensure/Registration/Certification:
    None.
